New York, New York

I have been dreaming to go to New York since I was 7 years old. There were many challenges for me to overcome to get to New York. But in the end after 25 years of waiting and working, I finally made the journey of a lifetime to New York City earlier this year with my American husband :-)

Of course I shared this happiness with my best friend Mr. Fashionista, and he is very happy for me. He has done London and I did New York, which leaves only Paris, Milan and Tokyo for us to cover. Hopefully we can see those places together someday. Pray for us!

Okay, enough of this sweet drama. Let's talk about what I found for us fashion lovers while shopping in the Big Apple. The place for fashion lovers and shopping is 5th Avenue, which is a major street in Manhattan. The section of Fifth Avenue between 49th Street and 60th Street, located in Midtown Manhattan, is lined with every designer shop you can think of and every designer imaginable. It's among the most expensive shopping streets in the world. Mmmmm I love the sound of "expensive". Below are two shots of me on 5th Avenue:

In the below picture, I'm in Times Square. This is another big tourist mecca and shopping district in Midtown Manhattan. Being in Times Square is like being in a giant pinball machine!

Ok, I know I am a bit showing off but hey... its my journey of a lifetime :-).

However as posted earlier by my beloved best friend, about his desire to have a tote bag by a certain American Designer, he asked for my help to get him one. And of course, what are friends for? I went through the hassle that is New York City to find a Jack Spade boutique for my friend, which is on Greene Street in Soho in Manhanttan. Soho is another tony shopping district in Manhattan. As to how to get to Greene Street in NYC, the below picture may give you a clue on how I got there:

The subway is the only way to get around the Big Apple and that's what we did too.

Anyways, after taking a subway and miles of walking, we finally got to the Greene Street. There were so many shops and people and at the same time such beautiful buildings plus a little spring rain :-). We kept walking and finally we found the Jack Spade boutique. Inside the Jack Spade boutique it looks like this:

After asking some questions, and considering what was available, I got something very sexy and chic for Mr. Fashionista. Later on he will show off his new bag to you guys.

New York is definitely for me. I would love to live in New York. The energy there, the excitement, people constantly in motion and striving to realize their dreams, is something that I have never felt before anywhere else. And what else does New York have that I want? Real FREEDOM!

Celine Tote Dual Tone Cabas Tote Bag

This year, I was suddenly falling in love with Celine bags!!! Honestly I never pay any attention to this designer before but when Phoebe Philo started to revamp the fashion house, everything became soo fantastic!!

FYI she was appointed to become the Creative Director of Celine in year 2008 by LVMH after succesfully rebranding Chloe.

Just look at her design for Celine....:)

Celine Boston Tote (in various sizes)

Celine Men's Tote

Celine Cabas
 ;
I totally drooling over those Cabas especially when Phoebe came out with these designs... :)

The dual colour just striked my mind!! (maybe its due to my Gemini traits!! haha....)

So of course I asked Ms Shopaholic to come with me to Celine Pavillion KL to checked out the totes....

When we arrived I immediately asked for the bag. Its look good and nice, its made from leather and very very soft ! (its made from Lamb Skin).

The price is alright (I remember its about RM3500 ish). I like it, but there is only 1 problem. It felt tooo soft I think if I carry this bag it will tear down in a minute!!

You know, I have this habit to throw anything that I have in my bag (my BB, Iphone, wallet, car keys, sweets, wax, perfumes etc) and I have doubt that it would be able to support the weight... :(

The other design that Celine has  in Pavillion which has a better and tougher leather cost RM6500 which is waaaay out of my budget. So I walked hesitatingly out from the boutique, of course with Ms Shopaholic.

So from there Ms Shiopaholic comfort me and advise me that we can buy the same bag in Paris this year which much lesser price, and I quite agree on that notion..

So days goes by as usual until this month where Ms Shopaholic need to go to US to settle some personal matters.

When she asked me if I have anything in my mind to buy, I straight away google designers from America that has a unique fashion style. After a few days, suddenly my eyes popped out when I saw this!!!

It has the same dual tone tote bag that Celine has!!! and the tote bag seems to be very sturdy and masculine!!! I love this bag!!!!! Furthermore, it is a creation of an American designer which is Jack Spade brand, the Man brand opposite Kate Spade which created many many beautiful wonderful gorgeous bags.

And my eyes became even larger when I saw these!!!

Not only it has dual colors but it also has a strap to make it as a messenger bag!!!!!!! Isn't that practical?? :):)

Without any hesitation I asked Ms Shopaholic to get me one of this bag!! I am sooo excited and I reallly really do hope that she would be able to find me this bag. I choose to buy the grey and red tote bag as above. I never had any red color tote bag and this is perfect for me...:) And the price!!! very very affordable...:)

After going through Jack Spade's design, I think this is a very smart brand. Its fashionable but in the same time practical and affordable. I would recommend anyone to have a look at Jack  Spade designs..you'll love it. Its urban and hyped.

But for those in Kuala Lumpur, you can only buy this bag from Singapore, we only have Kate Spade here.

Therefore I really really hope that Ms Shopaholic will bring back this bag for me....pray for me ok??

This year travel plan??

Hi guys!!!!

Its been so long that we haven't update our blog. It seems that Year 2011 was so packed with loads of activities and happenings!! We are soooo busy like Lady Gaga + Kim Kardashian combined! And we really really need a time off!!! Really!!

This time, karaoke wont work for us, this time we need to go somewhere, travel some place, enjoying our time, thinking nothing but fashion fashion and fashion again....and of course enjoying the panoramic views of foreign country...:)

If possible, I would really wanted to complete the whole Fashion Capital of the world..:)

Perhaps my plan should be as follows :-
2009 - London - done
2011 - Paris
2012 - Milan
2013 - Tokyo
2014 - New York

Hopefully the above planning would be feasible within the timeframe..

Well, people says that if you just dream, it will stay as a dream...

In order to make it a reality, one must also visualize whole hardheartedly, and repeat again and again that you are going to all these places.

Only then the universe will work their magic upon your wish...:)

So lets visualize...begin with what are we going to wear for the flights?...mmmmm.

You know, this is the most difficult fashion moments one can experience. I mean, you want to look great when you arrive, waiting in the airport, but you want to feel at utmost comfortable in the 20 hours flight, and then you want to look at your best upon landing and coming out from the plane...

What kind of fashion style can match all that requirement?

I like the black one..:). It look chic and comfy..and gorgeous trousers as well...:) I dont think I would want to wear skinny jeans on a long flight!! The pants must be comfy and not in light colour...and the top should also be a fashionably simple but great if matched with a jacket..:)

So an apparel for long flights should be :-
1- Comfy/ Loose - as you're going to seat in one place for a looooong time..
2- Dark colours - as if there is a turbulance and your fresh orange juice drop, you pants won't have the stain.
3- Long sleeves shirt/ top - so you wont feel cold.
4- Cotton - so it won't wrinkled when you arrive. Stay away from Issey Miyake wrinkled shirt..or you may have a problem in the immigration counter...

And what to do in Paris??

The new Hermes Store Paris at Rive-Gauche....lets go in....:)

What to buy?

Hermes Togo in Olive....:)

And after that....
we can go around the town in the new Bugatti by Hermes...

All exterior made by Hermes .....luxury..:)

So after driving all round town, its nice to come back home at hotel and meet Ms Shopaholic and see what did she bought, but before that perhaps I should take a shower and ease myself...

Eh.....

She's a definite Shopaholic...
